SOLAR’s web-based BMC2 COP provides a common, flexible, and extensible front-end workflow support for JADC2, as well as domain-specific joint ops and combined ops floor mission execution. SOLAR readily ingests a range of data types from a myriad of sources, and its extensible front-end supports easy incorporation of third-party machine learning and analytic tools.

SOLAR’s augmented reality (AR) spatiotemporal volumetric visualizations have been shown to increase both individual operator situational awareness for complex, multi-domain battlespace concepts that exist in 3D and 4D, and shared SA across co-located or distributed/dispersed operators. It is particularly effective at communicating domain-specific concepts across domains, and has significant potential as a training solution—with SOLAR, instructors can rapidly generate complex 3-D visualizations to facilitate learning.

We believe that SOLAR’s AR-based multi-level security solution, while only a proof-of-concept at this stage, could have revolutionary impacts on situational awareness across all tactical and strategic elements of the DoD by providing a SCIF-on-the-head solution to enable on-demand access to controlled information in any setting or environment.
